What clients have to say...
We have had 3 generations of dogs boarded with Kellee and Tim over a span of 15 years. We are extremely particular as to who we leave our dogs with. We always have totally felt 100% confident, happy and secure that our dogs had total personal care and attention. We always felt that with their extensive expertise with dogs to include medical and training knowledge that our dogs were in the very best hands. We were always updated on how they were doing and given the funny anecdotes of their day. When we came to pick up our dogs, they were happy and in good health. We always felt secure and slept well when our dogs with with Kellee and Tim. We have recommended them to our friends who have only had good things to say.

The South Dakota Canine Center is a unique training and boarding center in that both the human owner and the dogs are winners. Kellee and Tim Matthews are convinced that it is not one or the other that needs attention...but both!
After placing my two personal dogs, Newton and Darwin, in their care, the next time we stopped at the driveway, both dogs pulled on their leashes to enter the Matthews-run facility. That told me a great deal!! These two little Dachshund/Chihuahua mixes are fussy and demanding. In one visit they bonded with Kellee and Tim.
Yes, every bit as important to me was the recruiting and training effort that the Matthews put forth in securing dogs that would succeed as Canine Disaster Search Dogs. The Search Dog Foundation (www.SearchDogFoundation.org) is the leader in the field of Canine Disaster Search. Our recruits were often boarded with the Matthews during a trial period of testing and evaluating to determine if the dog would succeed as a disaster search dog.
South Dakota has enticed the Matthews family to return to their roots. The connection to the Search Dog Foundation (SDF) is still strong and close. SDF needs outstanding recruitment and an evaluation of each dog. We count of the expertise of the South Dakota Canine Center to provide this and more.
